Happy Valentine's Day

Think love....even if you don't shower your loved ones with oodles of candy and gifts today (I don't )....love them...think about them...show them. No gifts required.
I am not a big Valentine's day type of girl...it will come and go.
Chloe gets a little treat...Mr. JaneSays gets a little (and I mean little) itunes gift card....I may try to make something heart-shaped for dinner if I feel ambitious.


Today I have errands to run.....post office....grocery store.....lunch with my mom ( my favorite day off activity...time with your mom when you are both adults....girl time with your mom...priceless)


I need to wash my dogs....I'm getting new furniture in my family room I need to measure and map it out it would stink to buy TOO MUCH furniture for the room.


Spring is coming ( dare I speak too soon), I'm ready...I can not wait to pull all the brown crap outta my beds, that's cleansing...good times and so soothing to the OCD, the dead brown mess has been taunting me for weeks I tell ya.

I need to go visit my new niece, been one week since I have held that little nugget of joy and that is way too long.

Alright....have a lovely heart day and remember it's not about the "stuff"....think about love....think about them.

A Cute Valentine

ok...I know I am cutting it close here
but you still have time to create this adorable valentine.
It's so simple.
I saw this tutorial several places...can't recall where
if you know tell me and I'll give proper credit.
ok...so here's my way First things first
bribe your child into posing
with their hand out in an fist like they are holding....well...a big sucker.
This can go on for many many minutes unless you bribe well...so be creative.
Chloe got to go straight to the Wii when she was done.
Maybe for your kid it's a cookie...maybe a trip to the Dairy Queen.....perhaps $20
whatever will do.......you will be so glad you gave in to their wants, these valentines are so stinkin' cute.
Now after getting the "perfect" photo, get out your computer skills, if you have any, and doll your photo up a bit.
Add some text...perhaps a cute border.
If you have zero skills this is still very doable...just print your photo, you can write a simple to and from on the back no need to stress yourself over the fancy stuff.
I made mine a 2x3 ish so I could print 2 on a 4x6 sheet of photo paper.
Next cut each valentine out.
Then with a craft knife cut 2 slits one above and one below the hand.

Get your lolli pops, I chose these nice retro looking lollis, I love these, but really anything on a sitck will do. Well maybe not anything after I typed that I pictured a corn dog in there and that might not be so good.

The stick goes behind the hand....like so.

Now tell me that is not so cute.

Counting the photo session these took less than 30 minutes.

We are tickled to have a cute original non-store bought valentines this year.

Well truth be known I am tickled, Chloe would have been completely ok with My Little Pony, Super Mario, or those 3-D googley eyed animal valentines.

My first photo was taken at 7:25 and then every hour after that at 25 minutes after for 10 hours.

We had to swim for P.E. when it was warm.

NO way to get those 80's claw bangs back after swimming...it was horrid.

A bit about my yesterday........
It was one of my 2 days off
Mr. JaneSays was home sick with allergy issues
I warned him not to cramp my day off style
He did not
joking...joking...I would have loved for him to interrupt my crafting and such to take me to
lunch....much to my dismay he slept right thru lunch. poor babyman.

We have been baking again....more on that later in the week.

This is what you get when you have a silly child in the potty humor phase at your side playing with her horses while you bake with chocolate chips.

Hahahaaaaaaaaaaa.... funny....you have to laugh.

She had her horses out because we were watching Flicka, Chloe likes to play while she watches a movie....with toys from that movie....if we are watchin' Kung Fu Panda we drag out those figures...Toy Story....Buzz and Woody and the gang.....Tinkerbell...well you get the idea. No there was no horse poop in Flicka, this must have been a deleted scene.

Have you seen Flicka? Good movie. They play that tear jerker MyLittle Girl by Tim McGraw at the end ugh.....could do without that, it kills me, but it did allow me with some snuggle time with Chloe ( I had to scoop up my little girl at the first verse), and a good cry...who doesn't love both of those.

We're Ready

Big day tomorrow at our house, we are STEELER fans.
Not fans because they are going to the Super Bowl.
Not fans for a few years.
Fans since we were small....REAL fans.
The fact that we were both STEELERS fans was one of the first things Mr. JaneSays and I established when we met in that smoky, loud club 13 years ago. Fate...perhaps. Meant to be....perhaps. Solidarity on GAME DAY....for sure...so nice to pull for the same team.


We don't have people over, it's just the 3 of us....we don't like all the commotion.
We are eating Buffalo Chicken Dip and Sausage Cups.
Chloe's bedtime is out the window and the dogs will be required to take potty breaks during commercials.
