Last Minute Gift
Serious.
This is the BEST last minute gift.
Not because it's mine.
Not because I created it.

A Lady's Bathroom 101
My master bath could use some sprucing up.
When I sit and daydream about my perfect bathroom
I see this scrumptious Amy Butler rug
you can find it here, now that is something that belongs in a lady's bathroom.
I drooled over this whimsical mermaid rack years ago when I first saw it in Coastal Living Magazine....isn't she the best? I imagine someone on etsy could make me something similar, I should inquire because she would be just right for a lady's bathroom.
Apothecary Jars....you can fill these jewels with all sorts of girly goodies. These from Pottery Barn are lovely indeed I love the giant sponges so simple and unique looking. Apothecary jars belong in every lady's bathroom.

Sheet Love
When I opened my vintage shop I really really liked vintage sheets.
Now I really really LOVE vintage sheets. Pure Candy.
On most days there is a stack of freshly laundered sheets sitting, waiting to be listed in the shop.
Sometimes I enjoy the colors so much I leave the stack for days....and sometimes I photograph them. They make me happy.
I have oodles that I can't part with, but I'm saving them for what?
I can't cut them, it's a silly lil' sickness I have pulled them out and tried to get crafty with them BUT then they would be gone....how sad.
Since I am such a weenie no good vintage sheet cuttin up chicken let's look at some delicious and I mean delicious creations of creative folks whom were not afraid to cut the vintage candy.
This wreath by Jeni at In Color Order makes me swoon...I want it badly. Yes...just as it says you can go here and learn how to make one and if you want to then offer it to me for a good price that would be so nice of you. This just might be worth cutting up some sheets.
If only Mr. JaneSays would don one of these babies. Drew of Kitsch Cafe....I LOVE these vintage sheet neck ties. How much do you want to see a wedding where the groomsmen are wearing these....yum.
Anne at Get Your Martha On created these oh oh my beautiful napkins from vintage sheets. Now that is a lovely idea and once again there is a helpful tutorial.
I never would have thought to do this....plain ole file folders covered in vintage sheet fabric. I found this project here on Design Sponge the creator is linked there too...so be sure to check her out.

If you frequent etsy at all you have seen yummies by Candace of Sparkle Power and these vintage sheet stockings are no exception to her always make only lovely things rule. These would make any mantle va va vintagely teriffic.

Now are you convinced at the usefulness and the beauty of vintage sheets...it's very easy to do if you can get past the thought of playing around with something someone slept on.....I must admit that took me a bit. A little laundry detergent some hot water washes all the ickies away....really it does.

Get Your Roll On
All of my wrapping is done. I have no more gifts stuck here, hiding there, I hope.
I have finished off 4 rolls of wrapping paper this season, one just today.
At the end of each roll a bell that could only be heard by G and Chloe sounded, that bell signified the beginning of a wrapping paper roll "sword" fight.
They beat each other and the walls and sometimes the dogs until the rolls completely fell apart or I stepped in.
Today it was just me and Chloe at home.
As I finished off a roll I took my own sanity into account.
It was so quiet, Chloe was watching Santa Buddies, the dogs were snoozing in front of the fire....the last thing I wanted was for Chloe to spot the brown tube with soooo many minutes of beating and thrashing packed inside just waiting to be released.
I first stood the roll behind the garbage can.
Well that won't work, Chloe throws a water bottle,a fruit chewies wrapper or tissue away every few minutes it would seem...and well she would surely spot it there.
I tucked it ever so discreetly behind a stack of gifts.
That too would not work, Chloe shakes these gifts, that are destined for Grandma's house every few minutes.
There is only one thing to do....stand it out .... alone, in the cold on the back porch.

Here are some great uses for used wrapping paper rolls that will not drive mom crazy.
1. Crafting.....for sure !!!
2. Preserving the little one's art.....roll up...stick inside.
3. Kindling for your fire.
4. Imagination....makes a great telescope.
5. Great way to store fabric or tablecloths and other linens....roll em' up.

Thinkin......
So...I am thinking about revisiting the blog....I miss it a bit. What to you think? I know...crickets....it's silent out there...I haven't been around in a while. Do I need a new blog....fresh new look....or do I pick back up right here?

Let me whine to you one minute ....ok?
I know each of you have full days
plenty to do
and still manage to have wonderful blogs
but I can not maintain
something has to go
I am a mother
a wife
a daughter
a grand-daughter
a sister
a cousin
with a job outside of the home
with a 30 minute commute each way
I have meals to cook
a house to clean
a kid to play with...love...entertain....
a garden to tend to
2 shops
loads of shipping each and everyday
piles and piles of yummy .... scrumptious crafty goodies beckoning me to make them into something wonderful
I exercise
I read my Bible
I visit my family
I talk to my friends on the phone
I like to go to movies with Garren and Chloe and go out to eat

with all of this goin on my blog serves only as a source of guilt for me
pressure....
pressure to post
to be creative
to share more than I really want to...just to make you interested...make you wanna read
and frankly I'm exhausted with it...perhaps I try too hard....maybe not hard enough
maybe I am just not comfortable with the whole blogging thing....showing my home...my family...I don't know....I just know I do not enjoy it like I should...it's a chore and no one likes chores...right?

come read the old junk when ever you like
and perhaps the blog bug will bite me again in the future
