$ 1.21 worth of FUN

The thrift store we LOVE to visit
bags up little random junk in very thin....very cheap clear bags.
For kids....trinkets....small toys...happy meal type junk
just the kind of treasures my wee one loves !!!
For big girls.....ribbon....vintage trim....notions....buttons
OH...Chloe and I LOVE the bags
and affordable...Oh My...they are never over 2.21.
On this particular day....we were perusing the bags
handling each one...looking deep inside to see what's in there
JACKPOT !!!!!!!!!!!!
A BAG.....full of VINTAGE Smurf figurines....and accessories and only 1.21.
since the bag cost me 1.21 this is not completely FREE Fun
but fun none the less

You know if it came from the thrift store...it simply has to be washed

As long as I can remember......Chloe has completely enjoyed standing at the sink

and washing....anything.

For a solid HOUR she scrubbed....and rinsed

each little piece to a near spotless........brand new state

If you have never let your child have their way with your kitchen sink....a toothbrush....a sponge and some soap.....

Do it soon.....its only water....it cleans up well.

The Good and The Not So Good

We escaped to the beach house for a long weekend.
Lots of fun......lots of sun(Burn).....lots of playing Its a good thing to see Chloe play.....

Its good to see that teeny bikini.....

its good to see her working....helping herself.....fetching water........

its good (for me) to see G's chair empty.....that means he is in the ocean with Chloe and I am sitting.....just sitting......

its good to see some things never change....a bucket is a bucket....and a shovel is a shovel.....

its not good (for me)......to see tents.....up and down.....ALL over the beach

ugh..... the view used to be so nice.......beach....people....sand......hotels.....for miles.....

now its tents (huge ones)......and umbrellas......for miles......for crying out loud....you are at the BEACH.

I understand there are circumstances ...babies....grannies ...... medical conditions...... oh well.....something I RARELY do on my blog....step on toes....but I hate the tents on the beach .... I just do !!

After watching several pass me by on ebay....for 60 dollars and upward....I finally snagged one for Chloe....and well let's be honest...for me too.

This can not arrive fast enough.

Imagination Goes Wild

It was several months ago
Chloe was already in the bed
I was creating something
In the other room the TV was on
The American Country Music Awards were on
I don't love country music.....don't hate it either....I am just more of a talk radio kind of person
Geek...I know
anyway
I heard a song.....it made me stop.....it made me listen
strange enough...it made me wanna go get Chloe up so we could dance
the song was Johnny and June...by Heidi Newfield
I had never heard it.....heck...I had never heard of her
but the song
Oh...I loved it from the first note
Chloe loved it
From that moment on...she was Heidi Newfield
Performing....singing....swaying.....loving that song....and gradually country music as a whole

Shortly after the love affair with county music began
I arrived at mom's one day to pick Chloe up and saw this

aluminum foil

and various other goodies

that is Heidi Newfield

and those are her fans

and that is her stage and speakers and microphone

so fun

I love this for so many reasons

Mom said the WHOLE thing was Chloe's idea

even down to the flames Heidi is standing in the center of...if you saw the show you remember her standing in a ring of fire. Aren't kids the BEST !!

Mmmm...that's the good stuff.

blows my mind

I am so glad they did this....it really breaks it all down...how much she learned and grew and changed.....

and it really breaks me down too.....where are the years goin'?

Thrifting Together On A Tuesday

Chloe is out of school for the Summer

Tuesday is my day off....and now that Chloe is out of school....they become Together Tuesdays
This particular Tuesday was spent thrifting vintage children books for the shop

Vintage children's stationery......this is to die for.....simply wonderful.

Nothing special about this...just thought it would be fun for paint brushes in the studio...and it was only a quarter.

Nothing....and I mean absolutely nothing a coat of paint will not fix......lovin' this mini cabinet...only $3.83....ka-ching !!

Heeelllllooooooooooooo......of course I had to pick up this beauty

Vintage linens....being laundered as I type....love the pink and green....and the hearts remind me of the 80's.

Vintage napkins....

OK...this makes me smile....and I mean a huge SMILE.

Curtains.....1 and a half pairs....long....ceiling to floor long.....I am in LOVE with this print.
