Buried....

yep...I buried myself today.....in fabric....paper....thread....ribbbon
in whatever I could find to keep from falling apart
My husband who has worked for the same company (which will remain unmentioned)
has been laid off...effective March
Yep....it sucks.....
Why am I telling you ??
So you can pray....and send good thoughts....and mail me any change and heck...even french fries you find under your seats (humor helps me)

Big Bed

This weekend we reached another milestone
Chloe got her Big girl bed
...you asked for some before photos....well...I forgot to take some Saturday
But I dug and found a couple just for you
sweet and pink

on the wall...nursery rhyme canvases that I made for her

Ah....now....bright....bold

definitely needs more pillows...

but pillows take time...have to find just the right ones

and if I am Meg....I make them....but I am not....she is GOOD !!

Sooo....

This weekend I am attempting to get Chloe into a Big Girl Bed.
Oh sure...she has been out of the crib for years...her crib converted into a tiny daybed
and well...now she is looking a little large in that.

So I went to my favorite antique shop...Mom's basement...yes literally my Mom's basement...she has over the years collected the yummiest stuff.
She has the perfect full-sized metal bed....its brown...I may leave it....may paint it...either way..I Love it and it will be perfect and best of all...its FREE.

However we do have to mattress shop....so that is on the to do list....and bedding...and pillows...and of course with any new bed and bedding...comes new decor...so lots of fun to be had in my house this weekend.

Brace Yourselves

Brace yourselves they said......A Winter Blast is a comin'
Oh boy....last night as we ate dinner I peered out the little
Italian restaurant's window and thought now nice it would be if it would begin
right now.....how nice to sit here and eat my lasagna and garlic knots and
watch the snow land softly on the ground
but it was yet a few hours off.
We went to bed last night and as anyone living where we live knows....you can never really
be sure you will get the snow until you see it with your eyes.
Oh.....the letdown......Oh so sorry Chloe....my sweet little child who has
never played in more than 1 inch of snow....ever.
Oh brace yourself honey.....NO SNOW !!!!!! Here is our snow......Yep.....that's it.....all of it
As our luck would have....some force of nature came along and blew the storm a little south
and then a little east....leaving us with nothing more than a little dust

Instead of happily pulling on long johns....boots...and hats
Sweet Chloe plopped herself on the couch...bare feet and all and played a little Build-A-Bear

If you live in a land where you get a lot of snow...I know our depression seems crazy....but geeez...we never get snow...always left out....always skipped over....darn weather patterns.

If you have some right now....won't ya send us a little.....just enough for one snowball

OK...so two things are bugging me....now these are real serious....any help you have is appreciated.

First...what the heck good is this ion setting on your hair dryer....what is it "supposed" to be doing....and does it do it...mine just accidentally gets fiddled with off and on...high and low....can not ever really tell a difference in my hair....so if you can solve the mystery of this feature....please do.

Second...this one...the hubs and I kindly quarrel about in the car. OK...so I set my heat vents where I want them to blow on me in the car....well when the car makes a turn...the flow of air hits me in a different spot....like turning the car changes the direction of the air coming thru the vent...why do I notice this...well, I do not like the air blowing in my face...too hot...can't breathe...and sometimes when the car turns...its in my face...Ugh...takes my breath away....and I know it was not blowing in my face before...and sure enough as soon as the car straightens up....the air flow goes back where it was pre-turn....does anyone else know what I am talking about ??

Let It All Hang Out

Just like us....kids need to let it all out

This day....something inside Chloe wanted to toss fabric squares in the air...
I could just tell
So I unleashed the beast
"Go ahead...throw them everywhere".....I said

Sometimes its hard for people like me (neat-freak)

to let our kids make a mess

It took me 5 minutes to pick up and stack all the fabric....

well worth the enjoyment Chloe had tossing each and every scrap into the air.
