Some Joys of Nature in the Fall

Every year....I take Chloe to my Grandma's house
for leaf jumping (playing in the leaves)
When I was small it began as raking and ended as leaf jumping,
Listen to them crunch

The quiet before the storm

Sheer enjoyment.....

We talk about how this.....

and this.......

become this.

It was bound to happen.......

the shoes are coming off.

Yep.

Nice.

Cotton.....Chloe has been begging me to stop and pick some cotton from the side of the road

Well...this cotton does not belong to me....and seeing as I don't want to get shot....I always say no.....even though I would really love for her to experience it.

On the way home from a family reunion Sunday....PaPa Jerry (not afraid of getting shot) stopped and picked Chloe a stalk.

Fascination abounds......in Chloe and in me.....Isn't God's creation amazing....Cotton...grows as a plant....made into string...made into material....made into lots of stuff.

Enjoy some of the Joys of Fall....and if you need some cotton just tell PaPa.

They are Free.....right?

I present to you my car console.... yea....those are napkins......around, oh.....50.

I grab handfuls.....small handfuls...but handfuls none the less
at most eating establishments (using big words makes me feel less thief-like) haha

Sometime I may use a chic-fil-a napkin while I am eating some of their tasty nuggets in my car so that "one" is not stolen....but sometimes not...they may serve best with a runny nose or a spilled drink.

I may also have a couple of their nice kids bendy straws in my purse.....maybe...

What do you take that's "free" ?? ...come on....tell me.

This afternoon we hopped in the car.....all of us...Lei Lei too

and headed to our second favorite spot for boiled peanuts

(our favorite spot is in the mountains where we get our Christmas tree each year)

This quaint little market is called appropriately, the Old Store

They carry all the seasonal goodies....mums and pumpkins in the fall

Christmas trees, wreaths and cider in the Winter....you get the idea

I am sure you have a spot just like this near you....and don't you just love it ?

The List

It is that time of year
The Christmas List is forming
Each and every time Chloe says "ooooh..Mommy...I like that"
I make a mental note...and written note....and note on the virtual post-it note pad on my desktop....a voice note on my phone
You get the idea...I make sure I get it down
Why ??
Well...Chloe is not the easiest child to shop for
She has never liked just your run of the mill toy......it's difficult to run in Target and find gifts Chloe will truly enjoy....for longer than 10 minutes
I have to really dig around in the world of toys
Look high and low for great toys for her curious....inquisitive.....little full of wonderment self

My Giant Busy Box
Now this gift is something I could probably duplicate very easily....but let's say I run outta time this looks so fun....Chloe and I enjoy crafting side by side....its a great way to spend time together.

Marble Race

I myself and not too excited about marble race.

However ever since day one of school this year Chloe has spoke of the marble game.

I thought oh....how nice and reminiscent they are drawing circles in the dirt and thumping marbles....Ahem...not quite.

They are building elaborate mazes for marbles to race down.....Chloe wants this really bad.

Safari Monkey
While this a tad bit pricey for what it does....I think it would be fun.

Hide the monkey...and the wand along with lights helps your child find him....you're hot hot hot...oh now you're cold cold cold.

I am thinking if I secretly remove the batteries....perhaps I could get ...Oh....10 minutes to myself....dreamy.

Wiggle Writer
Wooo Hooo .... tell me this does not look fun.

I may pick up 2 of these.....don't you think the preschool would be so excited to get my tuition check in wiggly squiggly writing.

My Sewing Box
Since Chloe is asking for her fist sewing machine.....she will surely need a sewing box.

This one should do nicely....lots of kid friendly sewing notions inside.
