sniff sniff.....

I was just sitting here at my desk....and a smell passed by my nose...that reminded me of the smell of a new barbie doll....do you know the smell I am speaking of..that new plastic smell...and I remember wanting my barbie to smell new as long as she could. Anyway....that incident made me begin to ponder smells from my childhood that were comforting....and when I smell those smells now...they send me right back.

1. The laundry smell coming out of the vent outside....that is a good smell.
2. Mom's clothes....when you would open one of Mom's drawers or her closet the smell...Mmmm..smells like Mom.
3. An old ice cream shop...now not a new one...and old one...the smell of the ice cream and the equipment and the floor...altogether....yummy...dont ask me why I think the floor added to the smell...I just do.
4. Paw Paw's truck...the cab of the truck...that's comforting.
5. Your pencil box at school...the combo of crayons..pencils..erasers...Ahhh..days gone by.
6. The smell playground equipment would leave on your hands...that metal smell...gotta love the merry-go-round...I don't see those anymore...what a shame.
7. The smell of lighting bugs and ladybugs....not really a good smell but so reminiscent.
8. The smell of old church hymnals.
9. The smell of a party at school...cupcakes...chips..punch...excitement
10. White rain hairspray....gotta get those bangs up....loved the 80's.
11. Strawberry shortcake dolls....man those days were so carefree...makes me wanna cry.
12. Ours was Mr. Softee..the ice cream truck that made stops in your neighborhood...that truck smelled so good.
13. The dirt floor of your make-shift clubhouse in the woods.
14. Grandma's house...need I say more.
15. and this last one...well its not so distant for me....but Mom's you know what I mean when I say the smell of a baby....Scrumptious...sweet sweet babies.

Together Tuesday on Wednesday....

Ah ...now to catch you up on our together Tuesday...the day I stay home from work and Chloe and I get to shop and have adventures....and eat. We began the morning with breakfast at Panera Bread...Chloe had the Chocolate Chip Muffie.....I had the Asiago Cheese Bagel...Mmmmm. Then off to Old Navy...we bought a pile of clothes. This is the pile of toys that got put on top of the fridge for the rest of the day.....why you say? Well let's just say Chloe was pretending she worked at Old navy and rearranged the racks ?!?

Then we made mud/mulch pies....and then we stood in them.....and to end the pie making session in true 3 year old fashion...Chloe sat in it.

We bought these at Target.....

they make the bath water look like this....or red...or green...or yellow...or any other color you can create.....Chloe loves it.

We saw Horton Hears a Who! on Saturday...thanks for the recommendation Amy...it was GREAT...so we had to buy this shampoo...that's JoJo...he is a Who. Take your family...its very good.

I love these soaps....they dont slip outta your hand.....and smell delish !!

but I caught daddy....what a great daddy...look at those little cuties.

Six of One/Half a Dozen of the Other.

This is a post that will point out the obvious. At least is seems obvious to us...but maybe we are thinking a little too much of ourselves....nah. For some time now Ms. Little Bit Funky and I have been good "buddies"...we like a lot of the same things(birds, nests, pretty colors, ribbons, buttons, frills and cheap thrills)and papers, embellishments and doo-dads. A thought may have trickled through your head that sounded something like this "Hmmmm, for someone who is so anti-copying April's stuff sure looks a lot like that Little Bit Funky girl." Or the other way around. If you never thought that you can go here. It's OK if you thought it because if I did not know Crystal I would maybe think it too...because more times than not and often at the same time, unbeknownst to each other we list a lot of the same or similar items, with similar papers or embellishments. You may have even noticed that we post similar photos on our blogs or talk about similar things in our lives...but WE want you to know that we know this...and we are completely OK with it. This is the kind of "copying" where you and your best friend went shopping separately and bought the same shoes...not like you saw the cool girl at school buying those shoes and you snuck in the shoe store when she left, bought the same shoes and then pretended like you didn't see her buy them. Got it? We have talked about it, laughed and giggled about it and think that it is a result of two people who are just similar...we are friends, talk almost every day, encourage and make fun of each other, we buy from each other and send customers to each other...so we know those similarities are there...and in this case the "copying" doesn't bother us because we know the person behind the product. :) Don't you feel better now? In fact, in case you need further convincing...(I see that doubt in your eye) keep on the look out for some Little Jane Funky things...or Jane Says Funky...or Little Funky Jane....

6 Things about me that you could give a hoot about....

This is our beautiful Japanese maple....

I was tagged by Allikaye's mom...Ashley....ya know...the good thing about a tag is I can pretty much make a whole post out of it....so I will fill you in on Together Tuesday tomorrow...what did Chloe and I get into...and what did we buy???

ok...now 6 things about me you could give a hoot about...

1. I love love love taking the lint off of the dryer vent...I let it pile up...I know fire hazard...but I love when it gets thick....I have pondered saving it in a baggie.

2. I sleep with my tv on....all night...I can't fall asleep without it on...and if Garren turns it off I can sense it...I wake up and turn it back on. Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night I have to change the channel to Nick at Night...its scary what comes on the local channels after 2 in the morning.

3. I can only write with blue ink.....I hate the look of my handwriting in black ink....honestly I can't do it.

4. I am a chicken snob....I wont eat to close the the bone....... and on tenders or breasts I cant eat near any part that was attached to the chicken....so I kinda eat the center .

5. I am totally allowed to drive my car on E...but my husband will get a yellin' if he does.

6. When I need to have a confrontation with someone or discuss something serious and of great importance I rehearse in my car.

Now see...you don't care....do ya?

So much to show and tell

ok...hope you are ready for this...lots lots lots to show and tell. Sorry for no weekend post...weekends are sort of busy around here...not a lot of time to type....I appreciate you coming back today to catch up. We have babies......3 of them we think. Mommy and Daddy have been very busy taking care of this brood....we enjoy watching her feed them..even though its kinda gross..... nature is so amazing. God really knew what he was doing.

First package of the day....yes I said first.....my swap goodies...thank you so much Scottie...lots of crafting goodies...some Reese cups...notice they are not in the photo..give you one guess why (slurp). Feast your eyes on the lovely dollie and the scrumptious lil' house...thank you for getting my favorite color right on the dot...I love robin's egg blue.....Perfect !!! Behind all of this action is a very useful little scrapbooking tote.....I truly love each and very bit...thanks thanks thanks !! Or should I say we love......keep scrolling....

I could just pinch her.........you can not believe the workmanship unless you are holding her in your hands...you must get a dolly from tiddlywinks. Like I said...we love it all.....Chloe has named her Kate......welcome home Katie.

Second package....thank you so much Ms. Amy of Stinky Toes Design.....too sweet !! You know it will be next to impossible for me to write on these sweet weenie notes....absolutely too kind of you. I have met the most amazing people thru my shop and blog and you are definitely amongst those.....Love !!

Third package....oh yea...the mailman is loving me today....Geeeezz this lady and all her dad burn packages.....from Crystal...sweet Crystal....you did not have to do this....a cutie pa tootie tu-tu for Chloe....a Peep for Chloe...some fun dip for me and Chloe...yes I eat that too...and a ooh ooh could not love it more bird nest yum yum lovely all for me....thank you my dear friend...you are the BEST !!

On the way to dinner tonight you could see a cloud line across the lake with rain bursting from the bottom of it...thought it was pretty.

This is a historic house call the Talley House where we ate dinner...the best country cookin' ever...well almost....Grandma's is always the best !!

and on the way home...the sun is beautiful when it glaring off the lake...and the moon is twice as nice. Chloe brought nearly all of my old cabbage patch kids home from my mom's today.....does this send you back or what...the first one on the left....Megan in the bikini...she was my first. My dad reportedly jumped over the stack to grab her during the frenzy the first year they were released....Santa just had to bring me one....thanks dad !!

Ahhhh...A Collective Sigh ....the Weekend is Here

Yes it is supposed to get cloudy and cold AGAIN....but I am still so very happy to see the weekend arrive. Thanks so much to all of the well wishers...I am feeling much better just still have the nagging cough....I think I have a post nasal drip issue....sorry for the grossness...I hate those 3 words...ewwww !! Any one's granny have an old remedy....tell me...I'll try anything....as long as it does not involve taking my clothes off and running backwards around my house holding a carrot stick in my teeth. A sure sign that Chloe has been choosing herself a movie to watch....while it is another mess that I will have to clean up....its makes me laugh the way kids have that one track mind...must get movie...got movie...must watch movie...now.....

I know I know...another package from One Ripe Peach you ask....well yes !!

To borrow a fun post from Allie...let me share with you the things coming out of Chloe's mouth the last couple of days......

1. Mom....can I have popcorn....can I have popcorn...when can I have popcorn....will it take long to get some popcorn? ( tonight between 8:00 and 8:10)

2. Why do dinosaurs have tails? (Oh geeez...not this question again)

3. I want the fairy wings and the wand but I do not want the fairy dress. (because fairy wings really go best over a Steelers jersey)

4. I want some super loops (Chloe-ese for Fruit Loops)

5. Can I pop it...can I pop it? ( referring to her seat-belt the minute we pull in our neighborhood)

6. How do snails get in shells? (I dunno)

7. Who made dinosaurs? (God)....Who made God? ( that's detailed)....What's detailed? ( goodnight Chloe)

8. Bringing me one of her rubber spiders ....Where are the things on spiders that suck the guts outta rolly pollies? (during this time of year we find empty rolly polly carcasses under our kitchen cabinets that I assume spiders find at night and well...you know)
9. I don't wanna wear shorts...pollen jocks don't wear shorts. (but you have such cute legs...come on)

10. When we move out of this house I wanna take all of my stuff....all of it. (ok baby....ok)
